Gleaned – Jewellery Studio Gallery

Housed in one of Wollombi’s oldest (and most photographed) buildings is Gleaned.
This cool, tiny gallery was renovated and opened in 2019 by local jewellery artist, Kes Harper, showcasing her work. Combining found objects, precious metals and steel tins discarded and destined for landfill, Kes is a gleaner/maker turning society’s waste into jewellery and small objects.
For the month of September, Gleaned features a collection of sculptural works ”Remnants of Fire’. This exhibition captures Kes’s experience of bushfires that surrounded her, her home and studio in summer 2019. From the desolate monochrome landscape with burnt and melted domestic items, ‘Remnants of Fire’ reconstructs remains, turning them into artworks – for wall or wear.
Gleaned Wollombi, 2881 Wollombi Road, Wollombi – Open weekends 10-3pm
Open September exhibition Friday – Monday 10-3pm
